Center for Emerging Market Policies Forum on Crisis, Capital Flows and Debt Management

May 25, 8:45 am to 8:00 pm
Founders Hall, Room 126

The past few years have been remarkable for their degree of economic uncertainty. Not only has there been a recession on a scale not seen for nearly a century, but very large trade imbalances and asset imbalances have built up. Despite a great deal of recent work on these topics, it is clear that we are far from understanding the causes and potential resolution of these difficulties. The aim of this meeting is to take a deeper look at some of the mechanisms that lie behind these extreme imbalances and the policies that might be used to make the financing of our economies more robust and sustainable.

Arlington Street People's Assistant Network

Twenty years ago, two Arlington women saw a need and began preparing meals and serving them to homeless people. Meals were a start, yet people living on the streets also needed medical care, shelter and a pathway to housing. A-SPAN (Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network) formed in 1991 to address the needs of this vulnerable population. Today, over 1,800 people rely on our range of services that began with a single act of kindness.

For more information, contact Sarah Morse at (703) 842-0168 (ext. 168), smorse@a-span.org or visit the A-SPAN Website.
